Are Golf Carts Allowed on UAE Roads?
Most standard golf carts are not authorized for general road use in the UAE and are intended mainly for golf clubs, hotels, resorts, and other enclosed areas. Using a cart on normal public roads or pedestrian walkways can lead to penalties, because any vehicle on the road network must comply with federal traffic laws.

When Is Registration Required?
For “community-use only” carts that remain inside compounds, resorts, or golf courses, traffic authority registration is generally not required, as they do not enter public roads. However, once a cart is converted to be road-legal and used on public streets, it must be registered like any other vehicle with the competent emirate traffic authority.
Registration normally requires:
